How it's done
Stumps come out with the roots, because a stump cut flush with the ground gets in the way of every future dig. The waste is sorted — wood, metal, construction debris — so not everything goes to the most expensive landfill.
When we say no
Felling large trees near buildings and power lines is a job for an arborist. An excavator is not the tool for that.

Stump removal leaves holes that need to be filled and compacted before the ground can be used.
