Septic pit and treatment plant excavation

Digging for a septic pit, a watertight tank or a sewage treatment plant, plus backfill and levelling after installation.

mini excavator

Typical depth

up to 3 m

Typical time

one day

How it's done

The spot is chosen relative to the building, the well and the neighbor's boundary — there are minimum distances you can't fix later. We dig with working room around the tank. After installation the backfill goes in layers, so the ground doesn't sink after the first rain.

When we say no

With a high water table, a three-meter dig without shoring is dangerous. Then we either dig in stages or suggest a shallower solution.

What to know afterward

Don't park or build over the pit, and keep the lid accessible for pumping.
